WHY
Young players have dreams. They see goalkeepers playing in front of thousands of people and say “I wish that was me”. There is no way of guaranteeing that this can be made a reality but, if given the tools, children can reach their own potential through hard work and dedication.
Whilst we can only guide the hard work and fuel the dedication, we are able youth players the tools they need to be the best goalkeeper they can.
At a time when people spend a huge amount of time in front of screens, children see random goalkeeping exercises all over social media and believe that practicing these will help their game.
They spend time working on side volleys before they can pass, trying to get to the top corner when they can’t catch and making sure their hair looks good before they step on to the pitch
Unfortunately, what they don’t realise is that most of these social media goalkeepers are chasing followers, not trying to be the best goalkeeper they can.
If outfield players have three or four nights training on working with the ball at their feet, are the young goalkeepers getting anywhere enough time to focus on their own positional fundamentals?
The answer is no and that is where we come in.
Whether it’s online or in person, we will supply the tools to help any young goalkeeper be the best they can be and help the more mature goalkeepers perform at the top of their game consistently.
Hello…
My name is Charles Samushonga.
@ thatgoalkeeping_guy
I started coaching back in Glasgow in 2006. I signed a football contract @ Partick Thistle FC and part of my role was to coach the young goalkeepers- this is where the journey began.
After some bad luck on the injury front, I was released from the club and In 2010 I found myself moving to the USA on a football scholarship. Once there, I was asked to look after the goalkeeping training for both the male and female goalkeepers and from here I haven’t looked back
Moving to Sydney in 2015, I started working full time with a Football Academy. My role here was to work on improving the technical and tactical ability of players as well as being head of Goalkeeping.
From then, I have played and coached goalkeepers at Dunbar Rovers NPL, become technical director of a Sydney based academy, been head of goalkeeping at The Scots and still found time to snap my achilles.
Currently, I look after the W-league goalkeepers at Sydney FC, am the co-owner of Premiership Experience Australia, head of goalkeeping at Matraville Sports High and The Cranbrook School, and the director of goalkeeping at UNSW FC.
Two Football Guys operates and owns Football Fitness, Goalkeeper Society and manages Premiership Experience (Australia) to deliver coach education and player experiences at elite football clubs worldwide.
